06 Saturday	6:00 to 9:00 p.m Trivia contest! at Knights of Columbus. Teams can earn money with correct answers. WING will be awarded needed cash to promote our existence and activites.

21 Sunday	2 — 4 p.m. The ANNUAL MEETING of Western Illinois Nature Group -- WING (which owns Blackthorn Hill Nature Preserve). The meeting will be held at Carl Sandburg College, Building B lobby. Come find out what has been happening and what is coming up at Blackthorn Hill. Find out how to become a member of WING and help the nature preserve. Refreshments will be served. Open to the public. April
10 Saturday	10:00 a.m. to sometime later. Prairie burn led by Daniel Thompson. The date AND TIME have changed due to wetness on previous two Saturdays. If desired, contact Daniel by his email or 309 343-4888. We can use more help. Want to learn about prairie burns? Come and help or just show up. Galesburg Register-Mail might come out for news and photos. Prairie burns are fascinating!

May

June

09 Wednesday	6 p.m. Guided BTH Prairie Walk with Angella Moorehouse, biologist of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Angella gave us seeds and guidance to start our prairie in 2006. This 3 acre restored prairie (i.e. recently established) was burned about 2 months ago and has been weeded and improved over the last year. Angella will show us prairie plants and continue advising us how to improve the prairie. Every walk with her has a sizeable turnout. Let's keep it up! $2 per person. 12 Saturday	9 a.m. to noon Watercolor class and Art Fair. First we'll paint watercolors under guidance by local artist Ron Hunt, then gather to display our artworks during a public viewing of the art. $5. Here is a suggested materials list.

12 Thursday	Come at 8 or 8:30 p.m. Perseid meteor shower observation. Sun sets at 8:05 pm. Since the moon sets at 9:16 pm, it will be great conditions to see meteors. We'll watch from the BTH parking lot where sky is easily observed. Daniel Thompson will host looking up in the sky. Please come -- more eyes help.

28 Saturday	Bug walk 9 a.m. to 11:00? Good time for junior high students to complete their insect collection project. Everybody of any age is welcome. We'll look for any insect and will actually identify some! Butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, flies, true bugs, bees, ants, and . . . Perfect chance to finish your junior high school insect project. Led by bugophile Daniel Thompson. 343-4888. Cost $2. Bring ID books, net and/or jars if you want.
